February 22: Where You Work*
I love my job. As associate editor for the historical society, I get to learn new things every day from the great scholarship that just magically shows up on my desk. I get to choose books to be reviewed, which is a process not unlike the Scholastic book fairs of my youth. I get an office with a window, even though the view is a little sketchy. I get to hang out daily with awesome people who make me laugh. I get to write on topics that interest me. I get to critique the writing of others to make it the best it can be. I get to pursue higher education. In my old position as an exhibits curator, I got to dust the airplane in this photograph (yes, I have a scissor lift license), use power tools, write exhibit text, do research, interact with interesting artifacts, interact with interesting people, and hang out daily with those same awesome coworkers. It really is a magical place, this history palace of ours.
*Yes I am aware that I'm behind. Expect some serious catching up in the next few hours ;-)
