Because I'm a Work Hermit

February 15: Phone.

My desk phone almost never rings. I love it. I used to receive confused calls from patrons who really didn't want to talk to me but didn't know it because they a) didn't listen long enough to the message to see who they did need to speak with or b) didn't understand that just because I worked in exhibits didn't mean that I handled their grandma's fuzzy alarm clock that they wanted to donate. That's collections. I would politely give them the correct number and go on about my day. In my new department (I say new, it's been more than a year and a half) I might get one phone call a day. And it's usually from my coworker Mary asking where we're going to go for lunch. The bad part about this, however, is that this phone has no voicemail indicator, so I physically have to pick up the receiver to see if I have a voicemail based on the sound of the dial tone. I really should send the email that I've been meaning to send about switching phones . . .

And then there's the cell phone. For the record, I like it when it rings :-) And here I have some potential case designs for said phone. Any input?
