Fare Thee Well, Old Friend

Well, I'm back down to one laptop. And she's furry and meows a lot.

My laptop is, most likely, pretty darned kaput. I turned it on this evening to finish copying off some photos and back up my iTunes only to see a black screen with the scary words: Operating System Not Found.

C://Huh??

Fortunately for me, my big brother is awesome and had tricked out my old tower from undergrad days with a brand new rockin' hard drive, a bunch of RAM, and a wireless connection, so I'm not without computer. I'm going to do whatever I can to recover those few photos I didn't get off the other hard drive that no longer appears to be registering (I had been in the process of copying them when this mess occurred), and I think I have most of my music in other media, so I'm fairly lucky.

Now I just have to get used to the whole concept of a desktop again. But hey, I can close the door to this room so the cat can't chew the cords!
