Today as I sat in my cubicle attempting to edit/proofread exhibit text about various and sundry Rock and Roll bands/artists, I received a phone call from an unfamiliar number on my cell phone. I answered. A very nice lady from the furniture store gave me the news that the couch I have been waiting for is now waiting for me.
Because I think God knew I needed something big to make me smile.
Granted, other things had made me smile today, like the cat coming in every five minutes to serve as my snooze alarm. Not that I don't already have a snooze alarm, but a furry one that walks all over you is really that much more entertaining. Actually, it sounds annoying, but it did kinda make me smile.
Anyway, it's been a rather trying few days, so the fact that my couch is here is lovely news. Something new to focus on. And now I get to rearrange my living room. And my books on my bookshelves, which is always fun! I generally go by genre, then in the history section by chronology, and then by author's last name. I know, only slightly obsessive.
So, when my family arrives with my brother's truck, I shall have a new couch. That I bought all by myself. I'm excited.

Shifting books is a great opportunity to check out LibraryThing.com, catalog your books for free (up to 200), or get an unlimited lifetime account for as little as $19. I'm over there as benjclark, and yes I have a lifetime account. See what you have in common not only with me, but with Hemmingway, Marie Antoinette, and Thomas Jefferson.
